Moving From Melbourne to Sydney

One of the most exciting and challenging parts of the Sam Movers N Packers lifestyle is the unpredictability of the job. This particular task we had this week was a small local move from Melbourne to Sydney that turned out to be larger than expected! We started the day off with one truck, up and ready to go, until we arrived and saw a lot more we needed to pack and move. On top of that, a removalist’s harshest enemy – stairs!

Luckily, we already had one job done and dusted for the day, so we were able to call our other team out for backup. After our second truck arrived, it was only a matter of sorting, packing the items into the truck safely. When it comes to a two-truck job, we like to keep it as organized as possible, the same with any one-truck job. To maneuver this challenge, we sorted the heaviest items into one truck, and smaller boxed/loose items into the other, even though we pack and tie things securely, you can’t risk heavy items falling on top of breakables. We were able to secure the heaviest items to the front and sides of the truck for optimum space, and allow plenty of room for the rest of their possessions.

We’ve had situations like this before where we’ve had to bite off more than we can chew, because in a business like ours, customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and last-minute moves like this one are our specialty.

Even though it wasn’t a far move, we didn’t want to make the job a two-trip ordeal, time is precious to us and our customers.
